ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCES, GEOGRAPHY & GIS, GEOLOGY

Earth systems modeling is a broad topic encompassing numerical models of climate, hydrological processes, weather, land-atmosphere interactions, geodynamics and more. The Department of Atmospheric Sciences, the Department of Geography & GIS, and the Department of Geology each conduct state of the art computational research of earth's complex systems. Renowned modelers in SESE are Nobel Laureates Prof. Donald J. Wuebbles and Prof. Michael Schlesinger in addition to Blue Waters Professors Prof. Larry Di GirolamoProf. Sonia Lasher-Trapp and Prof. R. Jeffrey Trapp. Visit the individual faculty websites to learn more about earth systems modeling.
